Money Stuff is written by Matt Levine for Bloomberg Opinion, and it’s one of the most genuinely pleasurable things to read in the financial press. Levine is a former Goldman Sachs investment banker and lawyer who writes about financial markets with the rare combination of deep technical knowledge, intellectual honesty, and genuine wit.
What to Expect
Daily (ish) coverage of whatever is interesting in finance that day — securities law, corporate governance, market structure, derivatives, banking regulation, crypto, and the endless supply of scandals and strange situations that markets produce. Levine’s great skill is making complex financial mechanics feel intuitive while being very funny about it.
Who It’s For
Finance professionals who want to understand their industry better. Also excellent for intelligent non-finance readers who’ve always found the financial world confusing — Levine is one of the best explainers working in any field. If you only subscribe to one finance newsletter, make it this one.
